Hey, I'm Kari Solmaz.
I love the ocean, big front porches, and starry nights. I'm attracted to flowers- dainty red tulips in particular. I like falling asleep to the rain hitting my window, and waking up to the smell of something sweet made of cinnamon. I fancy candle lit dinners and twinkle lights hanging from my quaint little home. I enjoy good company alongside conversation that stirs my soul.
Why do I love photography? It starts with a dilemma we all face: Life is an adventure, it's full of wonderful moments and beautiful surprises that we all experience, but can't hold on to forever. To me, a photo is a small way to cheat the system. A way to recapture a feeling, hold the past in your hands, and get a glimpse of that time he proposed, or she went to kindergarten, or (to your amazement) is now graduating. It colors in those moments, the ones you could never forget, want to remember in every way, and lets you share them with those you love.
Photography lets me be a small part of that. I love living my own adventure, and love learning the stories of those around me, and I love getting the chance to help them remember it the best they can.
