Honduras Part 5: Trip to the Orphanage

Day 2:
The kids I met here stole my heart. They all called you 'amigo/a'. They would grab your hand to tell you they wanted to go play a game or hangout. I met a 12 year old girl who became my friend and we played soccer most of the time. When we left the kids all put their hands in between the fence to say goodbye and touch us one last time. Those images are incredible. The first photo is of a girl waving goodbye to us.

Honduran Secrets

This photo is of a young girl telling UNC student Tara Stout (right) a secret on one of the Dental Brigade days. This photo is not only one of my favorites but, it is also my photojournalism professor's favorite too. He loves the color of the wall matching the color of her shirt. He loves the striking contrast between the two skin tones. He loves the old spanish-styled door on the left. He loves the gloves that Tara is wearing. But most of all, he loves the moment.

Curiosity: A Honduran Moment

So this is one of my favorite photos I took on the trip. It captures the fact that a majority of the community had never seen a dental clinic in their life. This girl named Dezel, age 4, peeks into the room where extractions, fillings, and cleanings were being done. Things she probably had never seen in her life.

Rainy Days in Honduras part 4

These photos were taken on day 2 in Honduras. The cloudy and rainy day give these photos a great atmosphere. My favorite photo is the second one. Towards the end I took photos through the bus' rainy windows, which came out interesting.
